Northern Healthcare provides mental health recovery services across many regions within the UK. Our services consist of Supported Living and community outreach services which provide our residents with access to 24 hr support from experienced clinical and support staff.
We support over 150 adults across the UK in all aspects of their daily lives and mental health recovery. Currently our services are based across the Northwest, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- As Regional Operations Manager you will be accountable for regulatory compliance across the region.
- You will be responsible for providing operational leadership and expertise across the region, moving between strategic tasks and looking at the finer details of operational services e.g. staffing levels, deployment, cost control and recruitment.
- You will provide efficient multi-site management, development and improvement of services to ensure a high-quality individualised support provision
- Direction and leadership to support with managing incidents and appropriate follow-up with stakeholders.
- Provides a leadership style which is underpinned by strongly held values around equality, diversity and openness; effectively builds and maintains relationships with direct reportee(s) and other key individuals across the organisation.
- You will lead, coach and mentor Service Managers in all areas of operations and service delivery ensuring the strategic plan and vision are rolled out across your region.
- Ensures appraisals for direct reportee are undertaken in accordance with Northern Healthcare policy; actively manages performance which falls below standard in accordance with the appropriate HR policies and processes ensuring that a robust process is embedded within the team
Where you’ll be working and hours of work
Your location will be Northwest based at Head Office, Eccles but you will be expected to cover nearby sites.

The role is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week with a degree of flexibility.

- You will lead, coach and mentor Service Managers in all areas of operations and service delivery ensuring the strategic plan and vision are rolled out across your region.
- Motivate and provide direction to service managers and drive performance against set targets.
- Supporting the operations management team in monitoring all aspects of the services across your region, you will be responsible for overseeing governance ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to monitor compliance and assure the executive team that quality standards are being met.
- Working collaboratively with business development to drive occupancy/income growth in line with set targets – you will be involved with screening new referrals, making arrangements for clinical assessments to be completed and providing a final decision on if a placement can be offered in line with admission criteria and statement of purpose.
- Lead effective partnership working with commissioners, health professionals and housing partners to facilitate a collaborative approach.
- Support and manage change positively within the region to ensure ongoing development of the services provided and proactively manage the growth plan for the region.
- Ensure training and development of all staff within the region, to meet regulatory and contractual requirements and maintain a skilled workforce.
- Develop, maintain and evaluate systems and structures to promote the rights, responsibilities and diversity of individuals.
- Work in partnership with all internal departments to ensure Northern HealthCare’s aims and objectives are achieved.
- Work in collaboration with HR on any employee related matters, such as competences framework, skill gap analysis, pay & bonus reviews, employee feedback initiatives.
- Work with HR supporting with any disciplinary investigations, staff grievances, sickness, absence management and complaints processes as well as talent mapping across the services.
- As part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) you will work collaboratively with all members of the SMT working on ad hoc projects in line with business needs and priorities.
- To be part of a senior manager on-call rota providing advice/support with management of incidents.
- Clinical leadership ensuring oversight of clinical pathways, appropriateness of residents and assurances on risk management.
- You will develop strong business relationships with internal stakeholders including management team and executive team covering Clinical, Business development, HR and Finance.
