To assist in continuing our growth, the R&D team are seeking a motivated, hands-on team player, with cell testing and analysis experience, with the opportunity to make an impact on the technical direction of the company. You will be responsible for coordinating cell fabrication and testing and develop methodologies using in-house capabilities and instrumentation. Achieving the goals of the role will be challenging but rewarding, and you will be expected to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, self-organisation, and teamwork as part of a multi-faceted team within the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Test and develop new materials to expand Nyobolt's technology portfolio using electrochemical techniques as well as materials characterisation and analytical tools.
- Assemble and test various cell formats to validate material performance, and design and coordinate test programmes.
- Contribute to expanding Nyobolt’s lab and testing facilities and operation.
- Work with R&D team to plan and conduct experiments, analyse materials, analyse data, and ensure work is delivered in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the preparation and project management of relevant grant-funded research programs.
- Collaborate with wider Nyobolt teams, external laboratories, universities, suppliers and vendors for feasibility tests, process development for manufacturing, and analysis.
- Contribute to the development and protection of IP through rigorous documentation of experiments and preparation of invention disclosures.
- Ensure strict safe working standards are followed and promote a safe, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
Key Requirements:
- PhD in materials or battery chemistry.
- Experience with battery electrochemistry and cell testing, including use techniques such as GITT, HPPR, DCR, dQ/dV, EIS.
- Experience of large format (pouch) cell fabrication, fixturing and testing.
- Understanding of state-of-the-art electrolyte systems.
- Be able to carry out thorough data analysis on complex systems.
