Can you help our dogs get the care and treatment they deserve? Do you want to play a role in helping us achieve excellence in our rehoming process?

We're looking for a Hydrotherapist/Physiotherapist to oversee the rehabilitation facilities at the centre. The unit has a dual purpose, to manage critical conditions from a therapeutic perspective and to serve as an environmental enrichment for longer term residents.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

Accounting for over 60% of the Dogs Trust workforce (comprising c. 850 employees and c. 2,500 volunteers), the Operations Directorate is responsible for achieving the mission of Dogs Trust through the intake, rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs. The Directorate is split between four functions; 20 rehoming centres, the Contact Centre, a field-based team and a team in the London office. The rehoming centres also house a variety of other Dogs Trust teams.

Managing the rehabilitation suite, you will receive referrals from the centre team and be working with colleagues from Veterinary and Behaviour teams to design and deliver exercise programmes, tailored to individual patient, ensuring clinical and environmental wellbeing. This will also involve providing feedback to relevant teams about patients, maintaining accurate records, and providing high standards of customer service to the members of the public and adopters. Responsible for your own self-development you will also keep up to date with the latest regulations, requirements and trends in canine hydrotherapy and physiotherapy to help us deliver the best possible care.

With relevant qualifications in canine hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and water pool management, you will have prior experience of overseeing and supervising other members of the team. An excellent communicator you will have a knowledge of dogs and their welfare requirements.

Please note, a full manual driving license is also required.

To apply for this position please click the APPLY NOW button. Our application process requires you submit a CV and a cover letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role. For further details please download the job description below.
