SECURTIY OFFICER
4 on 4 off Days, 06:45– 18:45
(Cranswick Country Foods, Preston, HU12 8TB)
Cranswick Country Foods is one of the largest pork processors in the UK, dealing with multiple customers, the foodservice sector and further processors. An exciting new opportunity has arisen for two Security Officers to join the Preston site.
The purpose of the role is to ensure that the standards set by the site management team are carried out during your duties and at all other times. To maintain the security and integrity of the Cranswick Country Foods site always. To ensure that all traffic, vehicles and personnel entering and exiting site are dealt with as per site protocols with security and safety at the forefront. Detect and prevent unauthorised access to the site. Add value where possible with other duties as part of the role if achievable to do so.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
· Monitoring movement of staff and staff vehicles on and off the site
· Control and use of CCTV including the remote monitoring of other Cranswick sites and third party locations as required and installed in compliance with BRC and other audit requirements
· Control of access barriers
· Recording of all vehicles accessing and egressing the site on applicable system
· Control and use of vehicle weighbridge
· Registration and control of refrigerated deliveries, non-refrigerated deliveries and direction of visitors and contractors
· Conducting site patrols - external - (To comply with Food Safety standards only enter the factory with express permission from a senior manager)
· Operating “Stop & Search” procedures and escorting staff from premises when requested by a manager
· Recording and reporting of factory and vehicle refrigeration temperatures when requested
· Answering and recording external telephone calls out of hours
· Collection and verification of staff sale receipts
· Maintaining key control
· Assisting in the enforcement of Company Policy
· Accurate reporting of incidents
· Conduct animal welfare checking duties
· Implementing procedure in an emergency situation - e.g. distribution of Fire Pack
Requirements, experience and person specification
- Awareness of potential security hazards
- Ability to communicate effectively and politely
- Competence in maintaining records
- Ability to work unsupervised and within specified parameters
- Maintain a smart and tidy disposition and environment
- Involvement in the risk assessment process, to reduce the risk to health & safety in your area.
- Ensuring that all information relating to “preventative and protective measures” is passed to your colleagues.
- In addition, you will undertake any training that the company deems necessary that may assist you to effect the above responsibilities.
