Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated midwife to join our existing Sapphire Team, caring for a caseload of clients with additional safeguarding vulnerabilities and complex needs.
This will include providing antenatal and postnatal care for women and their families.
The right candidate will have up to date clinical skills, knowledge and experience and be familiar with current local and national Safeguarding policies and procedures.
They will be a passionate advocate for women and families, and must be able to liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary team and external agency/stakeholders involved in the care of the patient, communicating complex and sensitive patient information non-judgementally.
The role is a full time position.
- To be the named midwife for a caseload of clients with additional vulnerabilities providing support to them and their families.
To provide total midwifery care within the hospital and community settings working a flexible rota to provide 24 hour cover including on calls.
- To ensure individualised care is provided which reflects evidence based practice.
- Assess the health and wellbeing of women and babies during all stages of pregnancy, the intra partum and postnatal period in either the hospital or community setting.
- To engage with regular safeguarding supervision, team meetings and professional development
- To provide advice, training and support to peers
- To make considered judgements about how to act to safeguard and promote an unborn, child or adults welfare and be able to instigate measures to reduce the risk of abuse occurring.
