Job Description
We are looking for an efficient Human Resources Coordinator to undertake a variety of HR duties. You will be solo HR and report to the Directors and Home Managers.
The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources and will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations.
Responsibilities
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
- Maintain records of personnel-related data in the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Liaise with other departments or functions
- Manage the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts etc.
- Assist managers in performance management procedures
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events etc. and maintain the team’s agenda
- To maintain, update and monitor duty rosters to ensure that rosters consistently comply with staffing structures, levels and working time regulations
- To document sickness, grievances and other staff related issues in a timely manner.
- To ensure the home operates in compliance with Children’s Homes Quality Standards and regulations and any associated guidance.
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- To coordinate training sessions and seminars and maintain up to date staff training records
- To plan and implement investigations into allegations of a breach or breaches of the company Policies and Procedures
- To keep under research, review and implement new and current employee benefits
- Support other functions as assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
- CIPD level 5 qualified (or recognised global equivalent) HR practitioner or working towards is a plus
- BSc/BA in Business Administration or Human Resources or relevant field is a plus
Skills:
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
- Good organisational, time management and attention to detail skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Emotional intelligence
- Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular)
Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a HR role
- Experience with care compliance and regulations, e.g. OFSTED, CQC
- Exposure to employment regulations and payroll practice
- Knowledge or experience within safer recruitment
