Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for someone to become the leader of our team at Newbury & District at a very exciting time in our development.
Working for Newbury & District represents a unique opportunity to really make your mark at a company offering significant freedom coupled with the support of an innovative and independent parent company Reading Buses.
This role is ideal for an ambitious operations professional looking to exercise their knowledge and skills within the bus and coach industry in an innovative environment where an eye for detail and a desire to deliver will lead to a unique and rewarding challenge and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in one of the UK’s leading operators.
You will be joining the company at an exciting time, with the imminent launch of our brand-new Flight Line service to Heathrow, further new vehicle investment in the pipeline, and longer-term plans to develop a new depot building. You will also be maintaining our diverse mix of supported local bus operations, school contracts, corporate contracts, National Express coach services and private hires in the tradition of a small-medium independent coach company. This role will be focused on delivering growth, not contraction.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Operations Manager will be a designated Transport Manager alongside our Engineering Manager and look after around 50 drivers and a modest supervisory & admin team.
The successful candidate must have a successful record of operations management at depot level, together with all relevant qualifications. They must have the drive and ability to manage a team of people to deliver award winning local bus and coach services.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibility.
If you believe that you meet - or indeed exceed - these criteria and would like to apply please email carolineanscombe@reading-buses.co.uk with your CV and covering letter explaining why you are the right person for the job.
