Job Description

Production Manager (Engineering)

Our client, a successful and rapidly growing manufacturing company, takes pride in delivering high-quality products to a diverse range of clients across various industries. Due to continuous expansion within their operations, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Manager to lead their manufacturing team to the next level.

*Please note this role is within engineering and it is vital that applicants have previous experience working within and knowledge of engineering and engineering processes.*

Key Responsibilities

The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production within the company. Their primary objective will be to ensure the efficient and seamless operation of the production process, adhering to strict quality standards while meeting demanding production targets. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Planning:Develop and implement production strategies throughout the production team that align with the company's goals and objectives. Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost-efficiency while maintaining quality levels.

Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of skilled production professionals. Promote and develop a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance to team members and address any performance issues as they arise.

Resource Management:Optimise the utilisation of resources, including raw materials, equipment, and manpower, to meet production schedules effectively. Ensure that all production activities are executed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Quality Assurance:Maintain strict quality control measures throughout the production process. Implement measures to reduce defects and rework, ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Production Scheduling:Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands while maximising plant efficiency. Monitor progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.

Budgeting and Cost Control: Work closely with the management team to develop production budgets and cost control measures. Monitor expenses and implement strategies to achieve production targets within budgetary constraints.

Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process optimisation and automation to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications and Experience

· A minimum of 3 years (+) experience as a Production Manager within engineering and manufacturing

· In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and techniques.

· Previous track record of successfully managing production teams in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

· Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to prioritise workload and experience in achieving production targets
