Are you an experienced paediatric nurse looking for a challenge or a change? We are looking for someone to join the D33 senior nursing team on this friendly and supportive ward. You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a challenging ward environment.
You will experience working with children of all ages with respiratory, gastro and cardiac conditions, children with complex needs, some with non invasive ventilation, high flow oxygen as well as children with long term conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis and eating disorders.

You are a role model and ambassador for high standards of clinical practice and professional behaviour. You will need to be able to take the lead and act on your own initiative, to assess and plan how to meet goals and objectives for yourself and the ward team. You will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with families and within the multidisciplinary team, both verbally and in writing. You will be able to give constructive feedback to all multidisciplinary team members to effect ongoing and continuous improvement in patient safety and the quality of patient care and support junior members of the ward team to develop these skills themselves.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Act as the deputy to the ward sister/charge nurse regularly taking charge of the ward and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard.
Be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care and use experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.
Work flexibly as a member of the ward team and in support of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

ID and Right to work checks: NUH authenticate ID and right to work documentation including passports and driving licenses through a system called Trust ID.
