Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, IFRS17
We are looking to employ a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to be based in London and to work with us on a fixed term contract basis up to twelve months
The Role
Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, IFRS17 – FTC
To ensure financial reporting to Munich Re (MR) Group is delivered on time, to the desired quality level, in an effective control environment. This includes financial reporting in an IFRS 17 environment which went live in January this year.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams (Actuarial/IT)
- Take ownership of the Intercompany process including collaborating with stakeholders throughout the Munich Re group.
- Work closely with Head office in Munich
- Deliver UK GAAP to IFRS17 analysis and impact assessments to be reviewed and signed off by Steer Co
- Liaise with external and internal auditors
- Make sure all key assumptions are documented and agreed by Steer Co
- Critically appraise all processes and assumptions on an ongoing basis with a ‘continual improvement outlook’
- Proactively engage with the relevant stakeholders to improve where opportunity exists.
- Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
What we are looking for
You will have a strong technical background with in depth knowledge of Lloyd’s accounting/reporting and 3-5 years post professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
Key Skills & Experience
- Have experience in end-to-end finance processes, such as Finance operations, Planning, Forecasting, Financial close, intercompany process and Reporting
- Demonstrate knowledge/expertise of IFRS 17
- Experience of managing and/or leading a range of accounting projects
- Energetic and naturally curious
- Proven ability to communicate with confidence and credibility at all levels
- Strong relationship management skills to influence stakeholders and senior management
- Analytical, critical thinker and problem solving attitude
- Ability to take ownership and actively looking for personal learning and development opportunities
- Ability to work independently on individual tasks
- Highly organised, flexible and calm under pressure
Qualifications
University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA of CIMA)
