What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Material / Stock Controller where you will receive, check, house goods and communicate with various departments and stakeholders. The role is to ensure full materials support is available lineside. You will maintain a good level of supply and support to shop floor needs working in a team and on your own initiative. The shifts are rotating – earlies 0600-1400 and afternoons 1400-2200.
Responsibilities
- Receive goods from suppliers, checking parts against paperwork supplied and ensuring delivery integrity
- Daily use of software to control materials movement (Factory master)
- Physical movements of stock to and from stores
- Use of Counterbalance and Reach forklift truck to aid the storage of materials
- Picking, kitting and supply materials to works orders / sales orders including replenishment of Kanban systems off site
- Control of despatching of goods from stores, working with Logistics
- Control and collection of incoming documentation from delivered materials. C of C’s, materials certifications etc
- Perform stock checks and periodic audits within stores to ensure stock levels are correct
- Conduct regular communications with heads of departments when required and escalate any concerns as they arise
- Conduct all activities to the companies Health and Safety policies and escalate any safety concerns found immediately
- Deal with local concerns where possible and escalate where local control has failed
About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Good level of Maths / English
- Basic computer skills
- Counterbalance and Reach Forklift truck license preferred but not essential (Training may be given)
- Previous stores knowledge and stock control
- A good awareness of document control and organisational skills
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
Skills and Abilities
- Good timekeeping and time management
- Ability to communicate at various levels
- Stakeholder awareness.
- Work as part of a team or independently
