Leading German supplier of solutions within the Pharmaceutical and Chemicals Industry is looking for an Operational Excellence Manager, in North West Germany. We utilise a production and distribution network in 22 countries and employs around 2.000 people worldwide. With research and development locations in Europe, America, Asia and Africa, we see ourselves as a driving force behind industry-wide innovations. Working in international and interdisciplinary teams on a wide range of tasks with great scope for decision-making and short decision-making paths.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Operational Excellence Manager will be a key function, responsible for driving operational excellence initiatives across a matrix organization comprising 17 production sites and around 10 major tolling manufacturers globally. This position works closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that enhance the company's performance in terms of productivity, quality, safety, and sustainability. - Collaborate with the senior leadership to develop and implement operational excellence strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization & resource utilization globally.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives, methodologies and best practices throughout.
- Establish performance metrics, benchmarks, (KPIs) to measure and track operational effectiveness
- Continuous Improvement & analyses of existing processes workflows.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the identification and implementation of process optimization.
- Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies to streamline operations.
- Act as a change agent by promoting a culture of operational excellence throughout.
- Provide leadership and support for stakeholders in change initiatives.
- Collaborate with the ESG team to incorporate sustainability practices into operational processes
- Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and promote social responsibility
- Liaise with internal stakeholders at various levels, including production site managers,
engineering teams, and quality assurance personnel, to align initiatives with business objectives.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as tolling manufacturers, to ensure seamless
Evaluate and prioritize Capex projects that align with the company's goals.
- Monitor Capex expenditures and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints
- Development of manufacturing strategies together with the regional EVPs and business line managers

YOU WILL HAVE
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration
- Proven experience (at least 5 years) in a similar role within the chemical industry, preferably
overseeing multiple production sites
- Strong knowledge of OE methodologies, (Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Total Quality Management)
- Familiarity with ESG principles and their integration into operational processes
- Excellent project management and change management skills
- Effective communication and leadership skills to drive organizational change and collaboration
- Ability to work within a matrix organization and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in managing capital expenditure projects is desirable
YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE
- Corporate experience within Operations, Supply Chain, Sales Transformation or an Analytical role;
- A good understanding of business & Commerce;
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills;
- People and influencing skills;
- Previous experience handling projects / assignments in Sales transformation, Operational excellence, productivity improvement, Cost reduction & Value Stream Mapping in core manufacturing or support functions individually or through teams;
- Performed gap analysis, reorganised maintenance operations, inventory management and response time reduction;
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, tools and management concepts (including but not limited to relevant techniques from Lean and TPS toolkits);
- A relevant university background;
- Excellent IT skills including advanced MS Office usage; Be willing to travel extensively as client locations are global.
