Job Description
We are looking for a Chef to join our store in the center of Brighton.
The Brighton site has been one of our busiest and most successful sites to date and requires chefs to join our back of house team. It currently runs a take-away led restaurant service with a focus on stand-out quality and service.
The Company:
Established in 2016 with the opening on the Brighton site, the company has since grown to a second site which opened in Hastings 2021.
The Bok Shop are award winning fried chicken specialists with a menu of freshly cooked recipes taking influence from southern America and Asia. We are no ordinary chicken shop! We take pride in quality and originality to provide customers with great experiences and a friendly atmosphere. We continually develop menus and team members to take the brand into an exciting future.
Tasks will include (but not limited to):
- Working by sections
- Supporting the team
- Keeping up with cleaning
- Due diligence completion
- Taking direction from the Head Chef
Responsibilities:
Holding down your section during busy periods, while keeping up the expected brand standards of products, service and cleanliness.
Scope:
Initially you will be expected to take direction from the Head Chef and General Manager, later with a broadening of roles depending on competence and skill.
The Type of Person Required:
You will need to be a hard working individual that can keep calm and collected while keeping up with expected quality and speed. You will need to be able to take instruction, willing to learn and be well motivated to work as part of a close team that want to achieve.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Knife Skills
- Self-organization and direction
- Understanding of due diligence
- Understanding of importance of brand standards
Experience:
Some experience in a busy restaurant setting will be essential.

Pay
We have a range of roles available with the pay structured as follows;
Chef – 10.50ph
Chef Supervisor – 11ph
With the intention to push towards 12ph upon completion of probation and task book.
Part-time, full-time and flexible positions available.

Salary: £10.00-£12.00 per hour
