Here at GXO, we are currently looking for Operational ER Lead to join us at our ASOS site in Barnsley. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract role (maternity cover) working Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00.
You will have a unique opportunity to run well-established, fast-paced HR operations on a logistics site with over 3,500 employees under one roof. Directly managing a team of 6, you will be responsible for all HR topics, including all ER cases and providing an excellent level of expertise regarding employment law.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Provide comprehensive generalist HR support to our operational and managerial colleagues
- Lead and care for a team of 6 HR Advisors and their reports (6 HR Administrators)
- Get involved in complicated and escalated employee relations activity, such as grievances, disciplinary processes and absence management
- Proactively look to develop the HR strategy with an eye for continuous improvement and compliance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing generalist HR support to a large population
- Experience in managing a team
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR policy, practice and procedures
- The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels – this could be anything from our population to our leadership teams
