Winchmore Hill is growing, so we have an opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our team
The practice is part of the borough of Enfield, North London, and located within walking distance of Winchmore Hill overground station, close to local amenities and shops.
Village Vet is a well-respected and renowned primary care practice group providing exceptional levels of veterinary care across its collection of 30 practices covering London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Village Vet Winchmore Hill is a large, fully equipped and well-established veterinary practice which is conveniently located in a family friendly area of north London between Winchmore Hill, Palmers Green and Enfield.

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be a key member of the nursing team, working effectively with the Head Nurse and Clinicians. Our nurses are able to utilise their skills in a variety of settings when supporting and managing the patient journey. From diagnostics to anaesthesia or surgery, nursing care and nurse consultations and this role offers the opportunity to participate fully in the management of complex cases and the opportunity to develop skills in nutrition, geriatric health and behaviour via our nurse clinics
We are a training practice, so an interest in supporting students and clinical supervisors or mentoring experience would be supported.
Our rota:
- 42hrs/week - Monday to Friday,
- 1:6 Saturdays (toil),
- Sundays paid additionally,
- 1 x Bank holidays/year,
- A share of the alternative Out of hours rota (EIN) accounting for 0.5% share/year

Nurse Training-
We are a training practice with many years of experience that prides itself with a high level of training and support for our student nurses. RVN’s that have an interest in nurse training are provided with training to become clinical supervisors and given the opportunity to coach and mentor a student through their college course.
Surgery- Fully equipped theatre. Our surgery vet carries out orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery regularly. He also takes referrals and sees lots of interesting cases that the nurses will be a big part of their care.
Night Care
Overnight in-patients are cared for by our dedicated night care staff which means our owners and clinical team feel confident that our patients are always cared for and monitored.
Clinical services and equipment
Lab- Usual lab equipment. Blood machines include biochemistry, haematology, electrolytes. Various diagnostic snaptests. Microscopy.
Dental suite- modern dental equipment. Dental treatments carried out to very high standard. Digital Dental xray.
Imaging
Xray- Digital xray. Vets and nurses carry out xray exposures.
Ultrasound- Modern ultrasound machine. We accept referrals for scanning carried out by one of our permanent vets.
Endoscopy- 2 Endoscopes. 1 larger Gastroscope, 1 smaller Bronchoscope.
Kennels- we are able to split cats and dogs. We are a ISFM cat friendly clinic.
