Job Description

We are looking for Hygiene Operatives.
Would you like to earn up to £100 per shift?

Job Details:
  • Pay rate from £10.00 up to £12.50 per hour OT (+ £1 nightshift allowance per hour)
  • Carlisle - Gavaghan and Gray, Brunel House, Brunel Way, CA1 3NQ
  • Immediate start
  • No experience needed
  • Temp to perm

Morning shift:
  • Monday to Thursday 6 am – 2 pm
  • Friday 6 am – 1 pm

Afternoon shift:
  • Monday to Thursday 2 pm – 10 pm
  • Friday 1 pm – 8 pm

Night shift:
  • Monday to Thursday 10 pm - 6 am
  • Friday 8 pm – 3 am

Weekends:
  • Saturday 6 am – 6 pm or 6 pm – 6 am
  • Sunday 6am – 6pm or 6pm – 6am

Mach Recruitment is recruiting for several Hygiene Operatives to work in a large food production and distribution site in Carlisle.
The Role:
As an HYG Operative you will be working within a food production environment and your duties will be as followed:
  • Ensure process equipment and the fabric is cleaned to the required standards set out in cleaning and H&S procedures
  • To assist in the maintenance of equipment and fabric, through adherence to procedures and identification of non-conformances
  • Cleaning process equipment and building fabric is a critical part of a food safety management system
  • Some of the cleaning activities involve dismantling process equipment (full training will be provided)
  • Some maintenance tasks are carried out during cleaning to maximize equipment efficiency, e.g., greasing/oiling and seal replacement
  • Opportunities for progression within the role, after successful specialist training.
  • It may be necessary to work across the factories as required.

Accountabilities:
  • Work safely by following company H&S policy and hygiene procedures.
  • Achieve high cleaning standards minimizing the risk of microbiological contamination/cross-contamination.
  • Cleaning is carried out efficiently to maximize the finished standards and minimize cleaning chemicals and utility wastage.
  • Ensure PPE is worn correctly and when required.
  • Identify damage, missing parts, or potential foreign bodies during cleaning to your manager, this must be recorded along with actions, this includes production equipment being cleaned and hygiene equipment used to do the task.
  • Attend all training defined in the company's compulsory training route (CTR) and additional specific training, as required.
  • Prioritize cleaning of equipment through communication with the hygiene Team leader.
  • Report potential foreign bodies highlighted during cleaning.
  • Assist in achieving optimum OEE through cleaning promptly and adherence to cleaning procedures.
  • Complete hygiene signs-off documentation as required.
  • Take part in the company's continuous improvement plans and initiatives, as required.

About you:
As an HYG Operative, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Some mechanical experience would be beneficial but not necessary
  • CIEH Level 2 Health & Safety (training will be provided)
  • CIEH Level 2 Food Safety for Manufacturing (training will be provided)
  • Safe use of chemicals (training will be provided)
  • Manual handling (training will be provided)
  • Listeria and Allergen training (training will be provided)
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools (training will be provided)
  • Requirement for heavy lifting, pushing and pulling within site manual handling limits
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Additionally, ability to work with limited supervision, after training
  • High level of attention to detail
