Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Lending Operations teams based in Edinburgh! We're looking for a strong teammate who is client centric, well organised, flexible, confident, with good interpersonal skills and has a passion to progress.
Lending Operations is part of Markets and Lending Delivery and is the Operational Centre of Excellence for commercial lending execution and servicing activities. You'll join a team that provides dedicated specialist support for Commercial Banking coverage sectors, Client Products, Business Banking and LBCM.
The specific role is within our Fees Team and you'll be accountable for the invoicing, monitoring and collection of all up front and life cycle fees under the Agency BCB loan portfolio.
Reporting to the Team Manager the you'll support the operational day to day running of the team, acting as escalation for urgent matters and providing technical support and mentoring to colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:

Accurate set up, settlement and administration of LBG and LBCM commercial lending portfolios, including the management of facility set up, drawdown, interest and principal repayments, fee calculation, invoicing and collection, and reconciliation plus associate lifecycle events

Ensuring the accuracy of financial information downstream into group finance ledgers

Engaging partners and encouraging positive relationships with clients and market counterparts.

Driving business improvements by simplifying activities and crafting efficiencies

Delivering high quality, accurate, timely, fair, and efficient client service that satisfies the needs of clients, internal and external partners.

Handles risks pragmatically ensuring controls are performed and maintained.
Key Capabilities/ Knowledge:
-
Understanding of the Bilateral and Syndicated Lending markets together with the LBG systems, processes, and accounting practices

Knowledge of the UK and global payment schemes including SWIFT and CHAPS.

Comprehensive understanding of LBG risk framework together with the ability to use that understanding in practice.

Ability to handle priorities and demonstrate resilience under pressure.

Ability to support leadership and line management responsibilities as required and deputise for Manager as appropriate

Understanding of core products and associated procedures, processes, and systems.

Awareness of the market and how economic, political, and other environmental factors impact market conditions and how LBG is positioned in that context.
