This is an exciting opportunity to join the Procurement & Contract Management Team at Oxfordshire County Council in supporting the delivery of effective and consistent services and ensuring that products and services purchased from suppliers represent value for money for council taxpayers. Whilst the role is based in Oxford, candidates will be able to work remotely; travelling to the office when required to do so.
Reporting to the Category Manager for Professional Services this role will undertake the full delivery of key procurement and contract management projects within the Corporate and Commercial category, including tender document preparation, tendering, contract monitoring and contract administration. Experience of Professional Services and/or ICT procurement and contract management is desirable.
The Category Officer will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their management experience and potential for future promotion by mentoring more junior members of the team and in managing the wider support services team through procurement projects. It is therefore essential that candidates can demonstrate significant Procurement experience, having achieved CIPS Level 4 already. They will have the option to study for Level 5 and Level 6 CIPS, via self-study should they wish to do so.
