REPORTS TO: General Manager – Finance and Operations
Job Description:
Reporting into the GM – Finance and Ops, the Distribution and Operations Manager will assume full responsibility for the entire UK warehousing function based on Newton Aycliffe Business Park.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and implement production and quality plans based around customer service standards.
- Develop and implement effective warehouse layout that accounts for product flow, equipment and product handling systems.
- Establish, follow and enforce a high level of safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the department's staffing and operational activities, and plan future capacity requirements for labour and packaging
- Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress of permanent and agency staff resource.
- Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
- Co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain accurate records and files of inventory usage on Netsuite and Peoplevox
- Liaise with transport companies to ensure parcels are collected and dispatched effectively.
- Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Person Requirements & Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Ability to work to daily, weekly and monthly deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Numerate and analytical with clear commercial awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High IT literacy including knowledge of scanner based WMS
- Pro-active, independent thinking
- Flexible and resourceful - you must be able to prioritise and organise your own workload
- To be creative and/or open-minded and the ability to problem solve
- Flexible approach to working hours when needed
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and third parties
- Drive, enthusiasm and passion for our industry, brand and product
- Experience in using Netsuite or another Stock Management System
- Experience of Microsoft Office and/or Google Sheets
