Salary: £21,575 to £21,968 per annum.
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) and part-time hours considered.
Contract Length: Permanent.
Location: Chichester, with smarter working options to work from home available.
Interview date: Week commencing 17/04/2023.
We are looking for someone who wishes to pursue a career in Finance. You will work in the Income and Banking Team in Finance and Support Services. We are responsible for processing the Council’s income and associated bank and reconciliation processes in a timely fashion.
Our team has regular communications with members of the public, West Sussex schools, the Councils bank, and internal departments.
You will have experience working in a customer focussed role, enjoy working as part of a team but also be self-motivated.
Experience and Skills
Key Skills:
- Good numeracy skills.
- Accurate and efficient typing and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Good verbal communication skills for answering telephone queries effectively and communicating with clients, managers and team members. Additionally, the ability to give advice/information in ways which promote understanding and move forward or persuade people of objectives.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to changing situations and new ways of working positively and effectively.
- The ability to prioritise daily workload to meet timescales and objectives. Including the ability to work independently to operate a specialist function or duty according to procedures and timescales e.g. administrating a scheme or process.
Qualifications and/or experience:
4 GCSEs with A-C passes including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
