Junior IT Project Manager (Agile)

Where does this role sit?
We're the Commercial SRE team (Site reliability engineers) who provide support and oversight of Commercial deployments on to Public Cloud.
We're looking for a Junior Project Manager to support the Engineering Lead with delivery of backlog initiatives focused on platform development, workload delivery & the new application deployment to cloud.

What will I focus on in this role?
You'll be supporting the Engineering Lead in ensuring the Commercial organisation is equipped with the correct infrastructure platform capabilities to deliver new technologies, products, and features to Commercial customers. You’ll also have a dotted reporting line into the Service Performance Manager.
The second big part of the role would be to support Commercial divisions with their public cloud journey, end-to-end, including assistance with the Lloyds Bank governance & control framework in the context of delivering on public cloud platforms
Your role would be to coordinate delivery of specific programmes/ projects within that portfolio, working with a broad array of collaborators and business areas, as well as a number of technical application teams.
We use a combination of Agile & Waterfall project delivery, modern DevOps engineering practices and are always trying to continually improve & develop.
The area, or Lab, you'll work within will be made up of multidisciplinary professionals including engineers, analysts, architects, business users, product owners and anyone else required to deliver your programme or projects successfully.
You’ll also support some Scrum Master style tasks, including supporting product prioritisation & backlog management alongside the Product Owner.
Specific activities which you’ll be responsible for include things like;
Supporting the mobilisation of new projects
Supporting planning activities
Governance & controls
Reporting & tracking
Backlog prioritisation
Establishing and handling risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
Coordinating with software engineers, product owners, analysts, customers, technical specialists amongst others to ensure successful delivery

What do we need to see from applicants?
We like people who come from diverse cultural backgrounds and are really looking for someone passionate about technology, ambitious and has a good problem solving attitude. On your CV, we need to see the following to consider you for interview;
Work experience in a project related role, for example you might have done project support work, PMO work, junior business analysis or similar roles and ready to step up.
A basic understanding of project management within an Agile or Waterfall environment
A background within IT (commercial or degree), specifically anything related to software engineering or cloud services.
