Job Description

Avaliable Job Today

Summary

Are you a 3rd year student or just completed your social work degree? Are you starting to look for your first social work position? Then look no further!

We are now accepting applications for Newly Qualified Social Workers to join our Aging and Living Well Adult Service!

LIVE WORK CARE

Our Ongoing Support Teams offer social work and occupational therapy services to those who require longer term social care support.

We help those most in need by listening and responding to the specific needs of the individual; working with them to identify what is important to them and supporting them to create an improvement plan so that they can live the life they want to.

We work with health partners to support people before they reach crisis point. We focus on identifying existing individual, family and community support, ensuring that people can live independently for as long as possible.

Rather than assuming responsibility for providing care, we look for local, sustainable and less intrusive solutions wherever they are available. We help people to access a wide range of opportunities for intervention and prevention.

How do we support you?

You will be part of a supportive, evolving, and multi-disciplinary team, developing a service that puts the customer at the centre of everything we do. You will work with a dedicated ASYE Development Manager. That support includes twice monthly supervision as well as informal support and ongoing guidance for practice.

We offer a great working environment with clear career progression, an emphasis on promoting team members health and wellbeing, and opportunities for flexible working.

Why Wiltshire?

In addition to our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme, we provide a range of learning and development opportunities - not just at the start of your career but across the professional capabilities’ framework. Grounded in relationship-based practice, opportunities are varied and ongoing such as a newly developed innovative fund for developing practice by shadowing in organisations.

Our Offer

  • Excellent pension provision via the local government pension scheme (LGPS). We contribute around 20% of your salary towards your pension.

  • Truly flexible working, roles are hybrid between home and the workplace.

  • We offer light, spacious and modern working environments allowing flexibility to work at any of our hubs where you will have access to free, priority parking.

  • 26 days’ leave, rising to 31 days after 5 years plus public and bank holidays. You can also purchase an additional 20 days’ leave per year

  • Occupational health offers a variety of employee wellbeing services to support a healthy work/life balance and lifestyle, including health screening, smoking cessation sessions, menopause support and free flu jabs

  • Seminars on managing your finances, planning for retirement, pre-payday loans, ability to make additional voluntary contributions to your pension, learning loans and paid time off to train.

  • Family friendly policies - we support staff to achieve a healthy work/life balance with supportive policies including maternity and paternity leave, shared parental leave, adoption leave, ordinary parental leave and carers leave.

  • Development - we have an impressive suite of learning and training activities that provide a learner-centred experience. This includes a learning management website that enables you to manage your learning and track your CPD.

  • Excellent career progression opportunities including secondments to encourage development and expanding your knowledge and experience. including practice educator training, CMI accredited leadership programs and career paths into management

  • Pool cars – if you need a car for visits, you can pick up a car at a variety of locations across the county. Our fleet includes electric and hybrid vehicles.

  • Established and supportive teams who will provide biweekly reflective supervision and management feedback in a culture of learning and development.

  • An attractive rewards package with an excellent range of discounted products and services with national and local retailers via our Wiltshire Rewards scheme

  • Through our teaching partnership with Bournemouth University, you will have extra opportunity: post qualifications, to develop your research as well as lecturing opportunity.

We want passionate, professional, and committed social work graduates to support the Adults of Wiltshire to reach their potential.

Applicants for this role must have a social work degree or be in their final year.

Due to the rural nature of the county, you will require a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

If successful in interview, we will offer you a post on successful completion of your degree and the opportunity in the interim to be a paid employee as an unqualified Social Care Practitioner full or part time ahead of your Social Work England registration on a salary of £27,344 per annum pro rata.

Interviews will be held at the end of February, March and April.

This is a rolling advert, therefore shortlisting and interviews will take place throughout the advertising period. This advert will close once all posts have been filled.
