Our roles across Guildford & Waverley are based in both hospital and community settings giving you the opportunity to choose which setting is your preferred and most in line with your profile and experience. Our offer includes different contract types and working patterns/hours.
Our Guildford Locality Team (based in Guildford): The Guildford Locality Team is a unique place to enhance your knowledge and acquire new skills. A close-knit, friendly team with a strong track record in training and career development. A large team of over 60, separated into specialist sub-teams focussing on duty, complex, D2A and safeguarding, allowing those who wish to do so to specialise in their area of interest. Alternatively, move between the sub-teams and develop a whole range of specialist knowledge! We are driven by the ethos of person-centred working and focus on working with people.
Our Royal Surrey County Hospital Team (based in Guildford): Our team, which covers the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Milford and Haslemere Hospitals, is a friendly, well established and close-knit team. Working closely with a range of health colleagues, we assist discharge and support and assess for ongoing support when the person leaves hospital. We have a strong emphasis on promoting personal and professional development and are keen on staff progression. This is a very rewarding role; one where we are able to offer invaluable help to people at a time of crisis.
Our Waverley Locality Team (based in Godalming): Waverley is a friendly and supportive team of workers, including social workers, occupational therapists, social care assistants and admin collaboratively working to support residents in the community. Offices based in central picturesque Godalming with parking and nearby direct main transport links. We are a forward-thinking team that promote ongoing learning, career progression, joint working incorporating a mix of camaraderie and a sense of humour to strengthen our bonds. Sounds interesting? Then we are the team for you!
For Social Worker roles you will need to have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and be registered with Social Work England. We recognise there will be exceptions to this so please speak to us if you are in any doubt.
For Senior Social Worker roles, substantial post qualification professional experience as a social worker would also be required. Experience of providing professional supervision (can include unqualified and non-professional supervision) would be desirable but is not essential.
As part of our greener future strategies and our commitment to creating a healthy work-life balance, we welcome a conversation with you regarding our remote working options. Remote working to us is a balance of spending time in our communities, our offices and working remotely from home or wherever works best.
