Grangemead is a countywide respite and emergency service for adults with learning disabilities in Hailsham, which was refurbished to a high standard offering a hotel-style service. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. We have interactive sensory equipment and the latest in assistive technology to enhance the experience of guests staying with us.
The service provides a fun holiday experience for long and short respite stays where we promote life skills, independence, community presence and opportunities to meet new friends.
The emergency service provides accommodation to individuals who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives e.g., safeguarding, homeless, illness, death, or end of placement with carers.
Waking Night Support Workers work in pairs and are there to support guests overnight to ensure they are safe, and their wellbeing is looked after. For example: giving medication, performing night checks, making drinks and snacks if required.
This role also includes performing security checks and cleaning roles to uphold Grangemead’s high standard of cleanliness, ensuring the building is safe for guests.
Waking Night Support workers will hand over to senior staff in the mornings and take handover in the evenings. You must ensure all documentation required is filled-in accurately to a high standard.
Rotas are completed on a 6 week rolling rota, Waking Night Staff work 2 shifts per week from 21:30pm – 7:30am.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
