Our rapid growth means that we currently operate from six locations - our main head office in Swadlincote in the East Midlands, Tipton in the West Midlands, Nottingham, Canvey Island, Bristol, and Glasgow.
The Yard Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager. You'll be responsible for getting the correct quantities of products to their required location within the given time limit. You must effectively organise and manage a team of FLT drivers and vehicles. Our fabrication yard is one of the busiest areas in our production. It is important that you are comfortable working within a busy environment. For this role, a Forklift License would be essential
Main Duties:
- Ensuring our incoming and outgoing collections and deliveries receive the best experience when they visit the branch
- Managing, supporting, directing and leading the FLT drivers in the yard
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping at all times
- Assist colleagues to accurately prepare product for outgoing customer deliveries
- Ensuring Loading and unloading supplier vehicles are being loaded and unloaded in a timely professional manner using the sideloader or counterbalance trucks depending on load
- Stock handling and control
- Ensure all colleagues are aware and adhere to all company procedures/systems/Health & Safety (Training will be provided)
- Required to attend work meetings on a regular basis
- Ensure maintenance of sideloader and fork lift truck vehicles are carried out and all vehicle checks are logged, next steps are actioned.
- Efficient planning of your teams to ensure that picking/selection and loading of goods is handled in a timely and effective manner
- Responsible for overall movements of all stock both inside and outside
- Enforcement and adherence to all matters relating to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality. Including maintaining compliance with ISO accreditations
