We are a highly successful unitary Local Authority, responsible for delivering a wide range of vital public services, from highways management to complex social support. Within a professional Finance Service, the Revenues Team is responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and Business Improvement District Levy and we work proactively to support the changing needs of the organisation to ensure the best possible experience for all customers.
You will be a reliable and conscientious person, with a good work ethic and a keen attention to detail. You will ideally have some experience of working in a team and providing an excellent service to others. You will be patient and diplomatic, with an ability to negotiate on all levels to gain the best possible solution for both Customer and Service, with an ability to use initiative to solve both expected and unexpected problems as well having the ability to use IT systems to interpret and input data and information accurately.
You'll relish a new challenge and find opportunities to make a difference whilst being comfortable working flexibly and communicating by telephone and digital channels. The role
This key role, working as a member of the Debt Recovery team, will give you the chance to make a real contribution to improving the collection of revenue. Directly responsible to the Team Leader, you will work in a team to develop the service and provide information to finance colleagues and others.
