Job Title
Photographer/Videographer
Reports to
Head of Marketing, National Space Centre
Overall Purpose
To work with the teams within the National Space Centre’s business units to produce video and photography to market the products and services, produce educational content, and document activities for stakeholders and funders.
Main Tasks
To deliver a high quality professional photographic and video service:
- Undertake still and video photography, image processing, video and audio editing for multiple business units within the National Space Centre.
- Manage and or undertake video and photographic assignments from concept to completion in a cost effective and professional manner.
- Respond to enquiries, interpreting their requirements, providing expert advice on all aspects of all in house services giving full consideration to costs and value for money.
- To manage and deliver event photography from capture through to the delivery of digital or printed output.
- To manage consent from all participants in all projects, and to ensure all work adheres to in house safeguarding and artefact policies.
To support commercial services for external clients:
- To work with our Venue Hire team to provide a full professional service to third party clients, from initial brief, costing, on day services and final digital/print delivery.
- To work with the Curator to ensure all permissions are in place to support third party image use including on loan artefacts.
- To work with the Head of Marketing to ensure the use of brand in any third party commercial and promotional images.
Other Duties
- Ensuring that all health & safety procedures, including fire and evacuation procedures are adhered to.
- Undertaking in-house and external training as necessary.
- Other reasonable tasks as may be designated.
Hours
35 hours per week – mostly between Monday and Friday, but some evening, weekend and bank holiday work must be considered part of the job according to the need of the team. Time off in lieu will be granted accordingly.
Workplace
National Space Centre, gallery and office-based work. Occasional travel off-site to attend potential client meetings and any filming required with third-party partners.
Person Specification
- Keen interest in photography, from initial concept planning to shooting finalised ideas.
- Good communication and organisational skills will be the key to success in our fast-faced, friendly, and hardworking team.
- Ideally with a relevant qualification or experience and an in-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Good IT skills essential, with a willingness and ability to learn more advanced skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.

Remuneration
£23,000 - £25,000 per annum dependent upon experience
