Job Description
This role will be responsible for analysing and interpreting complex data sets in order to identify insights and trends that will help guide our decision-making processes. Its contribution will be critical in enabling our organisation to measure and evaluate its impact, as well as continuously improve its programmes and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management
- Collect and analyse large data sets from various sources to identify patterns and trends.
- Create and maintain databases to store data and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify data needs and ensure data is being collected in an efficient and effective manner.
- Monitor data quality and consistency, and ensure that data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
- Maintain data dictionaries and data catalogues to ensure that data is properly classified and labelled
- Perform regular database backups and implement database recovery procedures to ensure data availability and continuity of operations.
- Monitor database performance and identify and resolve performance issues.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Prepare and present reports and visualizations to communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions to support business operations and decision-making.
- Analyse data and develop insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate data insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to end-users to ensure that they are able to access and use data effectively.
- Develop and maintain documentation and user guides to support data management and analysis.
- Provide technical support to end-users to resolve issues related to data access and usage.
Personal Specification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field is preferable.
- 1+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in a social enterprise or non-profit setting
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets.
- Proficient in Excel, SQL, Python, or R, and experience with or openness go learn about data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Capable of presenting data in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to convey complex data concepts to non-experts.
- Ability to communicate complex data analysis results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret organisational requirements and translate them into data analysis solutions.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and technologies
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
