The Role
Inspiring and enthusiastic member of staff required to teach 3D Design (Art) to A Level. The Department places a
key focus on learning through practical workshops, with students being exposed to a wide range of techniques and
processes (welding, forging, woodwork, ceramics, jewellery making and CAD Laser cutting). Students produce highly
creative outcomes that range from architectural models, sculpture and installations, through to jewellery and
ceramics. The successful candidate will also teach other courses within the department as part of this friendly team.
We are looking for a full-time member of staff (or part-time minimum 0.6FTE) with dynamism and passion for 3D Design
(Art) to join our growing College.
Applications from ECTs and Teachers in Schools and Sixth Form College sectors are welcome. A full mentoring
programme is arranged to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and
encourage professional development. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the team, and inspire our
students. We expect high performance from all our staff and candidates should demonstrate their ability and
suitability to both the role and the culture of the College.
Start Date: Tuesday 29 August 2023
Salary: £30,887 to £45,403 pa, depending on experience (including fringe allowance) Pro rata for part-time
0.6FTE: £18,532 to £27,242 pa, depending on experience (including fringe allowance)

The Department
The Visual Arts department offers Level 2 and Level 3 CTEC in Art and Design, A Levels in Photography, Fine Art, Textiles,
3D Design and Graphic Design. Our students progress to some of the best Degree and Foundation courses in the
country. The department, based in a purpose-built art block, which includes a Mac suite for Graphics, laser and
3D printing facilities as well as a fully equipped workshop. The department hosts a range of extra-curricular activities
which have included trips to Rome and Barcelona as well as life-drawing and fashion workshops and rolling
programme of visiting artists.
The department also has a unique working relationship with the prestigious Lightbox Gallery in Woking with whom
we co-host workshops and seminars. Our annual exhibition there attracts close to 2000 visitors every year and
provides the College with an un-rivalled platform from which to promote our students’ work. In addition, the
department has a close relationship with UCA who have delivered a range of bespoke enrichment workshops
specifically for the college.
