Job Description
Avaliable Job Today Hello there. Thanks for taking some time to read this advert. Please read it all!
If it is for you then please get on and apply. We are waiting for you!
We're really proud that one of our team members and the work they do, but we are growing and they are all at capacity! We need someone new. Is that you?
Are you looking to continue your commercial career in marketing? Already working in marketing but need an employer who is flexible and well, not an arse? Then look no further.
We are The Marketing Junction, an agile marketing agency that works solely with businesses in the recruitment industry (have a google and check us on LinkedIn). We've been going for about 8 years and have some great clients.
So could you be the next team member?
For us it is more about you than the skills you can bring (although these are still important). Whilst we want you to work hard, we also want you to have fun and enjoy what you do. But your character is important. Our team are nice individuals, ambitious and loyal.
We are a remote business and operate a 'work whenever, wherever' approach. Most of the team find it easier to do normal office hours, but some flex it up. At times we have people go travelling across the americas or europe. As long as you can service your clients, you choose how best to work. It means your holiday is proper holiday and not taken up unnecessarily.
We do tend to meet up twice a year as a team, and very occasionally we might ask you to visit a client. All of this is fully paid. You have plenty of notice, and if it would cause you issues, then we will find an alternative.
The role is full time and I'm afraid we cannot consider anything less than 30 hours.
It's a grown-up environment that is built on trust.
But we need to be realistic. There are some things this job won't give you. If you are looking for a social life from work, then this isn't the role for you. If you want to come in and mess about with pretty pictures, hide behind the water cooler and not be accountable for results, this also isn't for you. If you want to be trained on everything and spoonfed - it's also not for you (you'll be supported, but we will want you to use your own initiative).
We also commit that we will not promote over your head. If you come in, do a great job and commit to us, we will commit to you.
You'll have loads of support. Our senior team are really experienced. We also have designers, copywriters and technical SEO specialists. It means you can play to your strengths.
So what does the job involve?
- Being an account manager and first point of call for clients
- Creating marketing collateral (brochures and white papers etc)
- Reporting on the monthly activity
- Creating and posting social content
- Creating and administering eshots
- Creating and administering automations
- Choosing topics for blogs
- Co-ordinating with designers and copywriters
- Making powerpoints
- Editing websites
- Other stuff that comes along, some great, other parts not so - but we all have these as part of any job!
Whatever your background there are a few non-negotiables:
- Strong written English - clients will not tolerate spelling errors
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram + Twitter
- Ability to use MS Office products
- Proficient in Canva
- Amazing customer service skills
- Willing to commit long term to The Marketing Junction (we are not looking for a one-hit wonder - here today gone tomorrow)
- Not a dick - you need to be a team player - happy to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
That's it.
You don't need a marketing degree. You don't need to have worked for a London agency.
We will ask to see at least 1 years commercial work experience in a marketing role. If it were in recruitment then great, but above all it has to be in a standalone marketing role.
Due to the location of clients and other team members, we would prefer applications from those in England and Wales.
The process is simple. It's as much about us as it is you. After all you need to know if you can work with us:
- Apply
- Have an informal conversation / Undertake a task (maybe the other way around)
- Meet the team
- Final confirmation conversation and job offer
So if you have the experience and drive, then apply now.
We do receive a high number of applications from people who do not have any of the skills listed or who just hit apply without answering the basic questions. We do not reply to these people and automatically reject them. Everyone else receives a reply.
So......
Please tell us your favourite colour in your cover letter and we will then know you are not one of them!
We look forward to welcoming you to the team. We're a pretty great bunch.
