Main Purpose of The Position:
To work with the production team and liaise with the customer base, with a view to supply parts by agreed means in line with schedule demand. To form the link between customers and Sertec manufacturing and ensure relevant information is available to achieve and exceed customer requirements and expectations. Through the Team Leaders coordinate, the activities of all team members driving standard processes and improvements measuring Logistics performance within the site. This role will also include supporting projects through Sertec Project Delivery System (SPDS).
Job Summary:
This role will have overall responsibility for site Logistics reporting directly to the General
Manager.
Core Duties:
- To lead the team members in order to meet targets and set KPI’s to ensure targets are met.
- Analyse the Supply Control Centre daily to ensure all promises against the 2-day stock shortage report meets customer demand. Compile daily work programme by customer/vehicle with a view to achieving 100% delivery performance.
- To ensure correct Logistics procedures are being followed, to enable zero labelling issues and are within the current Supplier Operating Standards.
- To monitor CHEP counts in line with customer demand to ensure costs are within budget.
- Special Transport costs to be controlled in line with the current Budget.
- To attend weekly/monthly team briefs to analyse and monitor departmental performance.
- P&D and HR related processes to be completed as and when required.
- To carry out tasks in line with current standards i.e IATF16949 and ISO 14001.
- To have agreement of what extraordinary costs should be passed to the customer and give relevant information to the relevant department.
- To work with the I.T. department to continuously improve and develop systems to improve performance and performance monitoring ie. Fleet focus
- To carry out additional duties deemed necessary to aid the efficient running of the logistics Department.
- To ensure customer demands for Quality, Cost and Delivery are met.
- To ensure all current processes relating to the dispatching of goods is within our customers Standard Operating Procedures.
- To ensure that the regulations regarding Health and Safety at Work Act are understood and complied with.
- Unpaid ASN to be monitored daily ensuring all dispatches are confirmed within
EDDL.
- To ensure the maintenance of good standards of housekeeping within your department are maintained. Racking audits safety and perpetual stock checks.
- To produce weekly/monthly KPI and use CI and PDCA methodology to improve metrics.
- To monitor the weekly SIM/Speedy and SDPR scores to ensure the site is on target and update Plant metrics one pager.
- To attend daily meetings to report misses from previous day and highlight any issues for the forthcoming day.
- To compile and present a monthly report based on KPI’s performance.
Job requirement:
To be successful you will need previous experience in managing teams in a busy, challenging environment with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Previous Logistics experience would be advantageous. You will also need strong organisational skills with an intermediate skill level in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledge in MRP systems and MIFA. A good work ethic is essential along with a high degree of flexibility. You will need a strong desire to learn and develop your skills. You would need to hold a full UK driving license as travelling to other sites may be required.
