Strategy Director Role
As our Strategy Director, you will be an experienced and confident strategic thinker, able to meet the growing demand within the business for clear, ambitious and well-informed strategies to meet our client’s business challenges. The Strategy Director is a senior member of the Strategy team, so you will be expected to take the lead on key projects, working with independence and good judgement and with key stakeholders across the business and senior Clients.
As Strategy Director, you will be responsible for leading the day to day strategic output of one of Armadillo’s key clients. The ideal candidate will be familiar with both brand and performance marketing strategies, with key experience in data driven and/or CRM communications.
Strategy Director Responsibilities

Taking leadership of day to day strategy for one of Armadillo’s key clients
- Working with the Head of Analysis and strategy team to fuel client strategy utilising data-led insights
- Oversee communications plan creation across all major projects, ensuring they are optimised against client strategies
- Oversee and approve (and/or write) major project briefs to the highest standard with clear strategic approach inspiring creatives and guiding analysts, as well as providing oversight and guidance for junior team members
- Create compelling strategic narratives displaying creativity using data and insight at their core and support junior teams to develop narratives to the same standards.
- Craft stories in tools such as Powerpoint to deliver simple but compelling and visually appealing decks for Director level clients
- Responsible for the Strategy team’s resourcing alongside the Head of Strategy and Hub Leaders)
- Responsible for individual development of direct reports through Armadillo’s Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) process
- Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on data-led strategy in CRM and/or performance marketing for B2C brands
- Experience would ideally be in an agency environment
- Strong presentation skills both face to face and virtually, with the ability to engage well with senior clients and with presentations that tell a story using strategy, data and insight
- Demonstrate clear, practical knowledge of analytical approaches & methodologies with the ability to translate the complex into simplified explanations
- Hybrid environment – 2 days in our central Bristol office / 3 days optional office/home working

- 25 days’ annual leave plus a day off on your birthday, increasing by 1 day per annum at each year anniversary up to 30 days, plus bank holidays
- Summer and Festive hours – finish 2.5 hours early one Friday per month in June, July, August and one day, chosen by you, in December
