Job Introduction
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Bid Writer to join our highly successful bid team. Supporting bids and tenders from across all divisions of Agincare, this varied and exciting role will cover all aspects of proposal writing and bid management. We are looking for a team player that can fully support our Bid Manager and the established Bid team.
This is a permanent, full-time role, 40 hours per week, we are able to offer remote working to the successful candidate subject to business needs. There will be some requirement to travel to Portland, Dorset, where our head office is based.
Salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on relevant experience and transferrable skills to this opportunity.

About the role
You will be responsible for writing, editing and proofreading well-thought-out and compelling content for bids in line with the specifications provided by our Local Authority/NHS customers. Working with our internal stakeholders, you will need to analyse and understand the sector and services we deliver to create high-quality content and increase win rates. This is a varied role; you will be writing bids covering a wide range of social care services across the business
Your primary duties will include the following:
- Responsible for completing written content to a high quality, within often tight deadlines.
- Conduct research needed to inform the bid using own initiative.
- Work closely with internal Agincare stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather all the required information to complete the bid.
- Create presentation materials and other supporting appendices required.
- Ensure effective version control of written content and appendices.
- Conduct sector research and keep up to date with changes in policy, legislation and best practices, ensuring this is demonstrated within the bids.
- Checking for updates/changes through the clarification process and ensuring any changes/additional information is reflected in the responses.
- Work with the bid team to continuously improve the content and maintain the method statement library to ensure quality content is recorded in support of future submissions.
About You
- Previous experience as a bid writer preferably with experience gained from the Health & Social Care sector.
- The ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively to deliver within often tight deadlines.
- You will have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- You will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- You will have excellent writing abilities, proven IT skills (in particular, Microsoft Office), and research skills.
- The ability to work independently whilst effectively using your own initiative.
- You will need to be highly self-motivated and proactive.
- Have an awareness of social care policy/sector (desirable but not essential) and willingness and commitment to learning about the care industry quickly.
