Job Description

Available Job Today We are looking to recruit a chef to work in our kitchen at the Langford Centre, a mental health hospital based in Bexhill on Sea

Working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 8am to 4pm, in this role you will prepare fresh produce, seasonal and nutritional meals. Our aim is to provide high standard, varied meals whilst meeting the needs of our culturally diverse residents.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ability to write and implement nutritious menus
  • Ability to understand and prepare special dietary requirements
  • Compliant in all current food hygiene & safety management legislation (current certification required, minimum Level 2)
  • Up to date knowledge and certification in Health & Safety compliance
  • Deputise for Chef Manager in their absence
  • Stocktaking/ordering
  • Maintaining budget
  • Cleaning duties within the kitchen/dining area
  • Further ad hoc tasks as per the needs of the business

About you

  • Must have a minimum of Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate and previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/domestic/hospital setting.
  • Good and proven communication skills are essential
  • Must be able to communicate verbally with vulnerable adults
  • Able to work on your own initiative
  • Willingness to learn about CQC/Care Standards
