Job Description

Location: Luton Urgent Treatment Centre Hours: 30 hours per week HUC is an integral part of the greatest health service in the world. We take pride in what we achieve on a daily basis. As a Healthcare Assistant, with proven healthcare experience in an acute or community environment, you will assist with the delivery of patient care. Providing support to health care professionals within a multi-disciplinary team, working under the supervision of the clinician and within the group parameters of practice. As someone who can work with autonomy, you will apply your skills and knowledge to the following clinical areas of responsibilities: Chaperoning duties ECG recording Phlebotomy Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being Medical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Shift Pattern Week 1 - Tuesday 09:00 - 17:00, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 10:00-18:00 Week 2 - Tuesday 09:00 - 17:00, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday 10:00-18:00 You’ll also be able to access a fantastic range of benefits. These include: Performance Related Bonus Scheme Salary based on £22,600 pro-rata, plus enhancements for unsociable hours NHS Pension Scheme NHS and Employee lifestyle perks and discounts Employee Assistance Programme Essential experience: NVQ Level 2 healthcare or relevant specialty Infection control awareness 1-2years recent relevant healthcare experience in an acute or community environment Experience of managing patients in a clinical or outpatient setting Evidence of statutory mandatory training / willingness to attend training Computer literate Calm, organized and patient focused practitioner Understand primary healthcare agenda Understand chronic disease management processes Desirable: NVQ Level 3 healthcare or relevant specialty 3 year’s experience in a healthcare setting Ideally a sound working knowledge of Adastra Instigated changes with scope of influence in current role As HUC is an organisation commissioned by the NHS, all roles are listed on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (SI 1975/1023), which means they are eligible for a standard or enhanced check as appropriate from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
