JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who has a natural enthusiasm for the art of training and educating dogs. This candidate will be able to hit targets and develop a good working relationship with clients.
As a Dog Trainer, you must have the following:
- A keen interest and enthusiasm for dog training
- Able to handle a variety of dog breeds and temperaments
- Possess the experience and ability to apply Canine First Aid
- A strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Able to answer calls in a professional manner
- Demonstrate excellent Organisational Skills
- A good working knowledge of Social Media
- Have excellent record keeping skills
The position is of, an on-going permanent nature consisting of a 35 hour per week, Monday – Friday (Core office hours – 09:00 to 17:00).
Flexibility in working hours will be occasionally applicable; only if it is deemed necessary to meet the needs and requirements of our clients and / or the dog or dogs in training.
Over the duration of this employment, you will be expected to:
- You will be required to work within a team and / or possess a high level of self-autonomy and responsibility
- You will be based at the office, engaging clients through Emails, Telephone ‘follow ups’ and Social Media related enquiries and listings
- Deriving dog behavioural models and devising training plans specific to each dog breed and situation defined within the boundaries located within the BLUEBELLS dog training manual
- Advising clients of the different aspects and ranges of training plans available
- You will be required to drive to clients (if applicable) to meet and greet clients and advise on applicable training models.
- Set repeat and follow up bookings with clients, discussing progress and specify if targets are being meet.
- You will be required (If applicable) by the client to board at least 2 dogs at your residence for a maximum of 14 days
- Provide clear and concise instructions to clients outlining “Positive Reinforcements” and “Training Technics” they need to enforce.
- Training new recruits and supporting the development of volunteers
- Good hygiene and the outward projection of professionalism both within the office and when dealing with clients
- You will possess an engaging and welcoming persona at all times
Assessment and key Qualification needed:
- Have previous experience in DOG TRAINING or in a similar role
- Demonstrate working knowledge about canine behaviour and body language
- Have credible experience and / or qualifications in dog behavioural training
- Demonstrate a good understanding of “Learning Theory” and its application
