Position Summary:
A lubrication chemist provides project-based technical support to their team, through a combination of office and laboratory-based activities. Our chemists are critical to enable the group to deliver projects and activities which help build Infineum’s technology and product leadership both in Europe and globally. Depending upon the specific team, the role could be directly supporting a customer or contributing to the development of next generation lubricant additive packages which meet the requirements of the automotive lubricant industry.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you
  • Proactively contribute to the high safety standards of the team and to Infineum
  • Support formulation development or deployment projects and technical collaborations with customers or engine manufacturers.
  • Co-ordinate and ensure completion of discrete work elements; arrange lubricant additive package and oil blends, schedule analytical and performance tests, interpret, collate and document data.
  • Participate in project / activity teams, present results and conclusions of the work as required. Document findings in technical report or presentation format
  • Interact and collaborate with both internal colleagues and external contacts as required to progress projects and support customer needs
  • Liaise with external service providers to ensure analytical, bench and engine testing are delivered to a high-quality standard and against established timelines.
  • Delivery of accurate and high-quality documentation to support performance claims on our products
  • Become proficient with Infineum processes and systems that enable the above

A successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Strong commitment to Infineum HSE and quality values
  • Experience of laboratory work
  • Established technical competency with a science background (e.g. chemistry or engineering).
  • Interpersonal, networking and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
  • Good time management skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity of IT software such as spreadsheets, word processing etc.
