- To assist senior staff in the production of Maxillofacial Technical and Prosthetic devices.
- To assist senior staff in the provision of Orthodontic services.
- To assist in the routine maintenance of the department and equipment.
- To participate in the accurate recording of data.
- Collect work from and deliver work to various departments within the hospital.
- Scanning models using 3D scanning system.
- Using the latest 3D printing and CAD/CAM technology.
- Participate in stock control.

Technical Skills
- Produce accurate models from intra oral impressions.
- Produce accurate study models for the Orthodontic service
- Assist senior staff in the manufacture of a wide range of dental appliances according to the prescription.
- Assist senior staff in the provision of service for Orthodontic de-bonds and same day retainers.
- Assist in providing clinical and technical information regarding the long term management of medical devices.
- Use departmental equipment e.g. Model Trimmer, Vacuum Former, Polishing Lathe and Computer systems.
Clinical Skills
- Follow Trust policy and guidelines regarding hand hygiene and cross infection.
- Treat patients with dignity and respect, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. Apply an empathic approach to patients who are significantly sight, hearing and speech impaired, or patients with mental health difficulties or have suffered brain injury.
- Participate in further training as required by the development of the post.
Organisational and Managerial
- Maintain Trust mandatory training as part of ongoing healthcare improvements.
- Assist in maintaining patient records and enter relevant details of materials used.
- Assist in maintaining records of work undertaken by the department.
- To participate in maintaining stock of consumables in the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Department and clinical areas.
- Assist in the routine maintenance of department and equipment.
- Observe and comply with current Health and Safety and COSHH legislation.
- Safely handle chemicals used within the department.
- Be responsible for safe use of clinical and laboratory equipment.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post
