Quality Control Chemist

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Scientist who will undertake analytical projects in a professional and safe manner, to produce results to required quality and timescales delivering analysis to Research and Development and Production Departments. The successful candidate will work with the Quality Control Analysis Manager to ensure work is carried out to project goals and with colleagues ensure individual and company performance targets are met.
What you’ll do:
You will be personally performing and assisting others with Quality Control (QC) Analytical activities, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of various materials related to the company operations.
You will aid in the running of the laboratory, ensuring the in process, raw material, and finished products analysis is carried out to a high accuracy and efficiency.
Ensuring good working practice (5S) is followed in the QC Laboratory. Helping ensure analytical equipment for QC is calibrated and maintained, with suitable records kept.
You will be supporting the Quality Control Analytical Manager supporting Quality Control operations, meeting parameters of the Quality Management Systems and Client specific requirements.
Presenting analytical results, following standard operating procedures (SOP’s), maintain up to date knowledge of current practices and relevant scientific progress pertinent to analytical chemistry.
Working with QC colleagues and ensuring communication of methods, specifications and results. Cooperation on external audits.
Your background:
You will be educated BSc or higher in Chemistry or a related subject.
We are seeking experience in working in analytical chemistry, specifically skills in the majority of the following:
· HPLC
· GC
· IR Spec
· UV/Vis
· LC-MS
· GC-MS
· UHPLC
Experience of wider work in updating methods, as well as working to industrial standards such as ISO, UKAS, COSHH, 5S principles.
