We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team at Sewerby Zoo as an Apprentice Assistant Zookeeper.
The successful applicant will undertake the apprenticeship standard (L2 Animal Care and Animal Welfare) and carry out duties as deemed necessary by the Head Zoo Keeper, to maintain the health and wellbeing of the animals and the cleanliness of the Zoo areas, having regard to animal welfare practices and zoo licensing requirements.
We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to work within a supportive environment. The candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team, have an interest in Zookeeping and be able to communicate effectively.
The apprentice will receive high quality training with a mixture of on-and-off the job training and attend college on a weekly basis (day release to Bishop Burton College) to complete the qualification.
