You will be part of a wider multi-disciplinary team delivering pharmacy services either on the wings/ houseblocks directly with our patients or in the dispensary when required. The role includes the administration and supply of medication to prisoners, medicines optimisation, dispensary activities in some sites and providing advice to other colleagues and prisoners within your competency.

The post holder will, under the guidance of the Specialist Prison Pharmacist, assist in the provision of a safe, efficient and cost effective pharmaceutical service to prisoner (hereafter known as service users) within the prison they are working in. This role will also involve providing medicines optimisation, medicines supply and administration, general health education advice and specialist technical services to the service users and healthcare staff. The post holder will assist with dispensing, supplying or administering medication including controlled drugs. They will support the delivery of medicines management services, primary care, health promotion and education.
