Job description
Medicines Counter Assistant/Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant required Full-time/Part-time. Extra hours will be available during staff holidays. 15-40hrs per week, some Saturday availability.
Post is for three pharmacy stores in Hitchin, St. Neots and Luton.

- Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Hourly rate is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Start date is flexible depending on circumstances however we would like to hire a suitable applicant as soon as possible.
Duties and responsibilities:-
- Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients in an efficient and accurate manner. Note: Sufficient skill in IT required to be able to operate/learn to operate new Titan pharmacy PMR system.
- Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
- Ordering medication and stock in line with pharmacy procedures to meet customer demand and date checking/usage monitoring to maximise availability and minimise waste.
- Participate in the preparation of monitored dosage systems to benefit patients on multiple medication regimes.
- Check endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions and file correctly to ensure correct payments are received with minimal losses.
- Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following pharmacy procedures.
- Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.
- Willingness to learn and receive training to participate in the delivery of any additional services to meet needs of pharmacy business.
- Participation in the sale of over the counter medication and other pharmacy products.
- Follow the sale of medicines protocol and provide advice to patients on the use of medicines as well as general health and lifestyle matters.
Receive and hand out prescriptions under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.

All pharmacy staff wear protective masks.
All pharmacy staff conduct Covid-19 lateral flow tests twice weekly.
Encourage customers to wear protective face coverings.
