About the role:
Brand System oversees and develops brand guidelines, toolkits, and playbooks to support the consistent application of our brand expression across the global organization. The team defines and extends foundational visual and verbal expression to support downstream application in marketing, sales, product, and events. We seek to answer what we look like, what we sound like, how we do it, and why we do it.
Brand System is building out its practice, and in this newly created role as Lead Visual Designer, you will join a small team of visual designers, content designers, and illustrators to grow our brand center. This self-directed role involves a mix of logic and creative thinking where you will lead the development of standards for foundational design elements, like logos, color, photography, typography, and iconography. In partnership with the larger Brand team of strategists, marketers, and designers, you will develop guidelines, validate them with creative and technical teams across the organization, and build and maintain asset libraries that will be used by your peers who build useful products, inspiring workspaces, and immersive customer journeys. Your work will be critical to ensuring design excellence across the organization, all in the name of investor-focused design.
This role reports to Principal Designer, Brand System, and is conducted entirely in English.
Job responsibilities:
Lead the development of standards for foundational design elements, including logos, color, typography, iconography, and layout and composition
Create and maintain asset libraries and toolkits for cross-organizational use to ensure design excellence at scale
Collaborate to develop content architecture for clear and easy-to-understand guidelines
Validate, audit, and evolve guidelines and libraries with regular input from other contributors (e.g., designers, writers, strategists, engineers, agencies) and stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Marketing)
Provide timely design support for internal partners and stakeholders
Manage simultaneous workstreams to deliver at critical project deadlines
Champion the use of Brand System and advocate for strong brand governance with peers and stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in visual design or equivalent practical experience
At least 5 years experience in brand design at an agency or in-house team
Exceptional organizational skills and attention-to-detail
Excellent command of design principles (e.g., color, typography, layout and composition)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC)
Knowledge of designing for digital spaces (e.g., websites, emails)
Knowledge of HTML and CSS; experience with Markdown a plus
Nice to have:
Experience collaborating with different design practices (e.g. Motion, UIX, Engineering, Content) and other stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Writers, Project Managers)
Experience deploying design across a matrixed organization
Experience ensuring consistent brand expression across customer journeys
Ability to communicate design rationale to a cross-functional audience
Experience aligning design solutions with timelines, customer needs, business feasibility, and technical constraints
Experience in data visualization, animation, photography, illustration, and sound
Knowledge of current design and technology trends
