Job Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Justice Healthcare has been evolving over the last 11 years and pharmacy services within NHS Tayside are seen as integral to the delivery of services to individuals in custody.

We are looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician, to work across HMP Perth, HMP Castle Huntly and HMP Bella Unit to further improve the pharmaceutical care offered to individuals whilst they are in custody.

The main responsibilities for the role will involve you working with the pharmacy team to deliver a quality, effective and efficient patient-focused service and to further develop the role of the clinical technician. This includes communicating with Community Pharmacies, GP practices and local prisons. There will be an extensive role within this post to undertake education and training for all members of the healthcare team around safe and effective management of medicines.

You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

You should have significant post qualification experience including a working knowledge of community pharmacy and HMP establishments, and the provision of services to people with problematic healthcare needs

The ability to be mobile on a daily basis to meet the job requirements is essential, as is the ability to work on your initiative and as part of a team.

If you have good communication and interpersonal skills, can manage change, and are committed to improving the lives of people with complex care needs then we would like to hear from you.
