An exciting opportunity has arisen for additional full or part time pharmacy dispensing assistant to join our dedicated team at Ysgol Street Pharmacy.
Ysgol Street Pharmacy is a thriving independent community pharmacy based in Port Tennant, Swansea sa1.
The pharmacy has recently undergone an exciting new refurbishment and is utilising new technologies to improve patient care and customer satisfaction.
We endeavour to always provide all our customers with exceptional service and healthcare. We ensure all our staff are well trained, friendly, helpful, and approachable to give the best possible healthcare and lifestyle advice to the local community.
The post holder will be a key member of the pharmacy team, making contributions to the daily workflow to ensure outstanding quality services for customers and service users.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals with an interest in healthcare to support our team in the day to day running of our Independent Pharmacy at Ysgol Street.
Our team is forward thinking and continually striving to improve the delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and optimise the use of medicines.
You must have excellent organisational and communication skills and you will need to be able to work effectively with the existing team within the pharmacy.

Main duties of the job
(depending on qualifications/experience)
You will work as part of a pharmacy team under the direction of a registered pharmacist. You will work with patients every day and help with their prescriptions. You will also answer their enquiries, either face-to-face or over the phone.
The successful candidate will work to accurately select and label medications from prescriptions. In addition, the post holder will provide relevant and professional counselling and advice to customers and service users.
Other responsibilities include providing expert advice on over-the-counter products, operating tills and IT systems, receiving, storing, rotating and ordering stock as necessary.
You will make sure that the pharmacy has the necessary stock by ordering items as well as receiving and unloading deliveries.
We are looking for a motivated and positive individual who can contribute to the efficiency of the pharmacy services we provide, with outstanding customer satisfaction and communication skills.

Person specification
Essential criteria
- NVQ1 Medicine counter assistance course
- 6 months minimum experience of working in a pharmacy
- Responsible, accurate and methodical
- Able to pay attention to detail
- To be interested in people’s health
- Excellent communication, IT and manual skills
- Passion for providing excellent customer service
- Good standard of secondary education to include 5 GCSEs at C or equivalent including Maths, English and Science.
Desirable criteria
- Pharmacy Healthcare Assistant or NVQ2 Pharmacy Dispensing qualification
- Preferably (over 1 years’) experience of working in pharmacy
- Customer care experience
- Stock maintenance experience
- Team working experience
