This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to take the next step in their pharmacy career or who would like to join the Northumbria pharmacy team and who has a passion for pharmacy governance.
This job is only open to applicants currently registered with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician.
To provide support to the Chief Pharmacist, CDAO within the Trust, to ensure that the Trust complies with legislation, national/local policy and/or best practice and ensure that issues relating to controlled drugs are reported and investigated appropriately.
To work with a range of pharmacy and other healthcare staff to ensure the safe and successful delivery of the pharmacy service and medicines optimisation strategy.
To manage the governance audit programme.
To manage data collection for the purpose of demonstrating performance against key performance indicators for the pharmacy service and medication governance agendas
To analyse, interpret and present data (e.g., controlled drug assessments) either verbally, via written reports or formal presentations
To ensure complaints and compliments received by the pharmacy department are appropriately managed.
To ensure pharmacy department health and safety risk assessments are completed, reported and appropriate actions taken
To provide Pharmacy technical support and advice on pharmaceutical matters and those pertaining to medicines management when required.
To manage a small team of Pharmacy technical staff who deliver ward and Pharmacy department based duties.
To work as a practising Pharmacy technician, undertaking dispensary work and ward based clinical and technical duties.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.
