Job Description
Whether you’re looking for your first role in dairy, or already have significant experience we’re currently looking for a positive, enthusiastic person to join our team as Dairy Herdsperson.
We are a forward-thinking, progressive grazing dairy farm at an exciting stage in our development, so come and join our brilliant team running the herd of 380 cows. The role involves all aspects of farm work including milking, animal husbandry and grassland management.
For a suitable candidate this role could be offered part-time as a job share.
In addition, for the right candidate accommodation could be provided with this role.
About you
You will be someone who is exceptionally positive, who has a can-do attitude and is committed to achieving the highest standards.
We are passionate about helping our people develop their skills & experience in all areas, and so you will be someone who is committed to learning and professional development.
Experience in a similar role is desirable, but certainly not essential - ideally you will have some experience in the key areas of milking parlour hygiene, animal husbandry and the basics of general farm work, however for the right candidate this may not be necessary, as all relevant training can be provided.
What we offer in return
A varied role in our enthusiastic & positive team, with opportunities to contribute to overall strategy via regular team meetings.
A commitment to helping you develop your skills and career including regular mentoring, tailored training plans and access to discussion groups.
Involvement in all areas of dairy farming including milking, calf-rearing and grassland management.
A highly competitive remuneration package - accommodation could be provided for the right candidate.
