Credit Risk & Reporting Analyst
Centrica Energy Marketing & Trading (EM&T) is the trading arm of Centrica. We trade LNG, gas, power and energy attributes - and connect independent producers, suppliers and corporate off-takers in the wholesale energy markets. We move and trade energy to satisfy the changing needs of customers.
We provide our clients with the best route-to-market services available to the market today, integrating sophisticated software, trading and structuring and optimizing exposures all the way from long term risk management down to physical trading seconds before delivery. In EM&T we have a diversified portfolio of energy assets under management, and we represent the new generation of energy traders, leading our customers to value on low-carbon, digital energy markets across the World. Our offices span across London, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Singapore.
As our business sets up for further growth, we are looking for a Credit Risk & Reporting Analyst to ensure that credit risk management is implemented at a state-of-the-art level within EM&T, ensuring the monitoring, control and mitigation of credit risks whilst supporting the development of business strategy.
Location: This role will be based out of our London office (located by Marble Arch)
About the Role:
Ensure financial and counterparty reviews and rating updates of own portfolio of counterparties
Monitor and manage current and forward exposures, including reviewing and responding to desk queries on screen trades or for structured transactions and risk mitigation
Provide credit language for trading agreements and advise collateral requirements within EM&T risk profile
Produce and review daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc credit reporting (viewed and used at group senior management level)
Management and development of IT systems and credit exposures to ensure that the reporting produced is meaningful, accurate and developed in parallel with new business initiatives
About You:
Knowledge of financial concepts (financial analysis and financial/energy markets) and credit risk
Exposure to trading systems management is beneficial
Can demonstrate autonomy in their work under the supervision of more senior team members
Experience in and knowledge of credit risk management and commodities or financial markets and products
Awareness of risk issues and the energy markets’ context
Exposure to trading documentation
Experience of the management of information systems and the ability to work with large databases, large spreadsheets (including advance formulas, for example excel) to help identify trends and come up with solutions
Willingness to learn and progress in the level of technical knowledge regarding products, the sector, and systems
Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders of all levels and present conclusions in a clear and organised manner
Ability to handle time-sensitive requests in a quick and reasoned way
A tertiary level qualification or equivalent, preferably in a numerical subject would be preferable
