Job Overview
We are currently looking to recruit a Water Projects Engineer to complete a range of remedial tasks associated with Closed Systems. Do you have experience working on Closed Systems in commercial premises? Would your knowledge of flushing and dosing be an asset to Mitie? We have a range of diverse sites across the South of England and Wales and need a dedicated operative to assist in maintaining these to a high standard. Could this be you?
Main Duties
- Complete Projects in line with the Water Technical Manuals guidance to safe systems of works
- Routine sampling to BS8552:2012 and drop off for laboratory collection
- On site Photometer analysis of system samples
- Closed system chemical dosing of heating and chilled systems with dosing pots
- Closed system chemical dosing of heating and chilled systems with dosing rigs
- Closed system flushing, raw water, dynamic, and back-flushing of terminal units
- Site surveys for flushing and/or installation of side-stream units
- Ability to install side-stream filtration units would be beneficial
- To be an ambassador for the Company whilst visiting customers sites
- Maintain customer's Watersafe log books in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8, and company guidelines
- Complete and submit documents required to prove project completion
- To have daily calls with the projects team to ensure tasks are completed in time and to budget
- Maintain adequate stock levels of chemicals in Stores, and adequate levels of chemicals and materials in vehicle
- Ensure all expenditure has the prior of approval of the Line Manager
- To maintain plant and equipment on customers site and report issues found to allow for quotation to replace
- Comply with customer site specific instructions
- Carry out a daily vehicle check and report any damage to your line manager
- Follow the correct maintenance, driving and safety guidelines as detailed in the Drivers Handbook
- Ensure that any equipment which you are issued (e.g. Tablet computers, PDAs) is kept clean and is properly maintained
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers of Mitie.
- You have a personal responsibility for your own health and safety and that of other people affected by the work you do.
- Report any potential hazards arising from your work to your Line Manager. Report all accidents, incidents or near-miss incidents to your Line Manager and also via the Interserve's accident reporting system.
- Follow the requirements of all safe working procedures.
- Wear all PPE correctly, as per company issued requirements and site-specific requirements.
- Any other reasonable task requested by your manager in line with responsibility of role and grade of job.
What we are looking for
- Good understanding of the requirements of BS8552:2012
- Good knowledge of BSRIA BG50 and BG29
- Understanding of Consent to discharge requirements
- A technical background relating to heating and chilled systems
- Previous experience within Compliance Servicing, Legionella Monitoring or Water Treatment is desirable.
- Understanding of domestic Water Systems would be desirable
- Basic IT skills, preferably with Microsoft package.
- Demonstrable organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, being able to manage and work to deadlines.
- Understands the importance of, and can demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Be a strong ambassador for the Mitie ethos
- Experience in an analytical role is desirable but not essential
