Mitie /Communities (revenue £400m) is one of the four major business divisions within Mitie, alongside Technical Services, Business Services and Central Government & Defence. At Mitie Communities we serve public sector clients in Healthcare, Education (schools and universities), local authorities and councils and emergency services. We provide our clients with both soft and hard facilities management services. Our contracts include both commercial output-specified contracts and Private Finance Initiative contracts.
Role objectives and responsibilities
- Building strong relationships with management and the Trust.
- To build capability of the line managers through effective training and coaching in managing people in line with Trust process, policies, and procedures.
- Providing sound counsel to Management in relation to all people issues and strategies for the account.
- Support complex ER issues, engaging with the Trust ER Team as needed.
- Ensure identified service levels of delivery across all parts of HR (talent acquisition, learning and development, reward, employee relations) are met and that key performance indicators are put in place and achieved consistent with the principles of continuous improvement.
- To coach and influence all Managers to ensure that decisions are in line with Trust Policies and Procedures.
- Champion the Values of Mitie & role model the behaviours, ensuring these are visible and challenging any which do not bring a positive working culture.
- Proactively manage the performance management across the business and contribute to Talent management.
- Drive and embed cultural change and engagement programmes, in conjunction with the Centres of Excellence to achieve a Great Place to work philosophy.
- Work alongside Change Partners and the Trust to drive all TUPEs & restructures adhering to all legislation/regulations.
- Proactively review and address workforce planning along with the Management team to ensure there is no disruption to the operation.
- Take the lead on a variety of HR projects that contribute to the strategic ways of working in the Business.
- Review & manage absence across the business with management, ensuring process, procedures and correct direction is being taken to support/remedy each case in line with the Trusts processes.
- Work alongside our third-party absence management partners to maximise on the best solutions with our attendance strategy.
- Work with specialist service teams to ensure that OH, vetting, RTW and pre-post assessments are accurately administered, managing the process required/building on its continuous improvement.
- Proactively review all commercial projects and liaise with all COEs to ensure that plans are in place to support deliverables in good time.
- To deliver the required training programmes either through classroom teaching or webinar classes to support with the Management & Supervisor upskill, increasingly capability.
- Work with the client on specific projects to ensure a smooth transition of any changes or implementations that could affect their organisation.
